Kasi Gas: Our story

Founded in 2022 by Thabo Mngomezulu and Stephen Jordan, Kasi Gas is on a mission to revolutionize energy and agriculture in rural South Africa. Driven by a commitment to sustainability and community empowerment, we harness organic waste to produce clean, affordable Biogas and nutrient-rich organic fertilizer. Our approach addresses critical needs in energy, environmental health, and food security.

In 2024, we launched our first prototype plant in Fernie, Mpumalanga, marking a significant step in transforming rural communities with sustainable solutions. Through innovative partnerships, a micro-franchise network model, and a deep-rooted passion for impact, Kasi Gas is paving the way for a greener, self-sufficient future in South Africa.

What We Do Differently

At Kasi Gas, we aim to scale impact through a unique micro-franchise network of Biogas plants, delivering clean energy and organic fertilizer directly to rural communities—empowering local economies and promoting sustainable living from the ground up.

Community

Kasi Gas seeks to build a network of locally-operated Biogas plants, creating jobs and supporting rural economies while making sustainable energy accessible.

Dual Impact

Our process converts organic waste into clean Biogas for cooking and heating, with an added byproduct of nutrient-rich organic fertilizer that boosts agricultural productivity.

Circularity

Kasi Gas champions a circular economy by diverting waste, reducing greenhouse gases, building a cleaner, more resilient future for rural South Africa.
